I grew up in a rural farming community, went to a small high school and worked part-time jobs in restaurants to put myself through college. Many of us here in Dare have similar backgrounds and we are all affected by the decisions and directions our Board of Commissioners are taking.
I earned my Masters of Public Health (MPH) and moved on to work on improving healthcare in many communities, both here in the US and overseas in Latin America. I want to use my 30 years of experience to improve healthcare here at home in Dare County. And that is improvement for all Dare residents, not just those who already can access quality healthcare.
